The American Home Furnishings Alliance announces several promotions among its current employees.
Nicholas Spino is promoted to director of communications, reporting to Patricia Bowling, vice president of communications. He joined the AHFA staff in 2021 to oversee the alliance’s website, internal database system and social media platforms. Among his new responsibilities, he now serves as editor of AHFA’s Furniture Executive monthly e-newsletter.
Alex Williams is promoted to director of sustainability & regulatory compliance programs, reporting to Bill Perdue, vice president of regulatory affairs. Williams joined the AHFA staff in January 2025 tasked with bolstering the association’s sustainability programs, extending regulatory compliance efforts to include rapidly-growing state initiatives and assisting with various technical task groups. He has recently spearheaded compliance guidance for extended producer responsibility packaging regulations and hosted the AHFA Packaging Forum in June.
Finally, Donna Garcia is promoted to events and member relations manager, reporting to Gene Clark, vice president of membership & associate member relations. Garcia has been an administrative assistant supporting AHFA’s Solution Partners division, membership development and regulatory compliance since 2018. Her promotion reflects added meeting planning responsibilities.
