A new credit card processing program is now available for AHFA members through Elavon, the third largest processor in North America. The
program is designed to simplify credit card processing and make it more affordable to accept credit card payments from both retail and individual designer accounts. Find out more > Discounted Payroll Services
Member companies are eligible for discounted payroll processing services through Heartland. Services include web-enabled payroll processing, remote check and reporting capabilities, new hire reporting, benefit accrual tracking and payments, direct deposits and more. Enforcement Alert
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has begun finished product compliance efforts in the State of California. Although CARB extended the sell-through dates for pre-Phase 1 composite wood products and finished goods, any product labeled as compliant is "fair game" for testing.

Meanwhile...
The federal Formaldehyde Standard for Composite Wood Products Act was signed by the President in July. AHFA has participated in initial meetings with the Environmental Protection Agency, the Office of Management and Budget and the Commerce Department to discuss the emerging rule and its prospective impact on our industry. TSCA Reform
The House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Commerce, Trade and Consumer Protection held a hearing on Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) reform at the end of July. Witnesses during the highly contentious hearing included representatives from chemical manufacturers, industry groups, environmental groups and the EPA. The bill could potentially eliminate the future use of flame retardant chemicals.   Read more >
